Bono rings in.... finally!

This morning we were chatting about Bono during 'Dish De Durt'. So later I was answering calls for the competition and a woman says "Hello, is that The Colm & Jim-Jim Show?.... hold on I have someone here for you...."

Next thing I am talking to Bono, yes... the real Bono from U2... but I think it might be a messer. So I ask him a tough question about a song he sang with Prince and he's right! He DID murder 'The Cross' in The Pod in 1995!

Then I invited himself & Ali to the wedding (Shaz & me got engaged in New York last week, chuffed by the way!) and I think he said he'll pop in and sing for us......?

Anyway, I tell Colm & Damo that Bono is on line one and various swear words are exchanged... and we go live. (Listen to clip above)

Afterwards I chatted briefly to Bono off-air and he says he loves the show and listens with the kids on the school run. He followed us over from the other place. God Bless him.

Thanks Bono, see you at the wedding!

Well well, so much messing every day in the show, how could I believe that it was true? Now I do believe, God bless him you're right Jim Jim...

If he doesn't do it, there's some Portuguese songs I can perform at your wedding...hit assured uh?

Take care
Manuel

Bono's voice is better then ever, he is doing things with it that he never manage to do in the 80/90's.

Here are some examples:

- The High C in "Wide Awake" in Bad was never hit on JT tour/LT/ZooTV/Popmart/Elevation, but on Vertigo tour he did hit it several times.

-He sang opera on the Vertigo tour.

-He holded high notes up to 11 seconds on the latest tour.

-One of his highest falsettos ever was hit on Vertig tour, it was an
E5.

-On Vertigo tour he hit the C on "Don't you look back" on Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, something he never has done live before.

-Notes he had to scream/strain to hit in the 80/90's he now hit clean
without screaming/straining.

-In a chapel in london november last year he sang Desire with an amazing power.

Fantastic! I just moved here from Canada with my Irish hubbie and I love listening to the show in the morning; you guys are off your head! I love it!!!

The Bono bit was unbelievable and I'm glad that I was there to catch it live. How cool was all of it?! I thought it was so great of Bono to give a call, have a chat and sing a ditty. Amazing!

If you need any yoga instructor in prep for the wedding, just let me know! It will give you lots of bits to chat about especially when you can start putting your foot behind you head. The missus will love it.

Congratulations on a great show; it is a bright spot in the morning ( mom of 2 under 3 who needs all the help she can get in the morning!)

Respectfully,
Tahnee
